A combination of drought and high water temperatures are devastating many areas of the Amazon. Over 150 endangered river dolphins have died in unprecedented numbers, which has been now declared as an Unusual Mortality Event (UME). Scientists have estimated that this number is between 10-20% of the population. The ARDCF has established a UME emergency relief fund in which 100% of donations will go towards providing medical equipment, experienced personnel, and other necessary supplies to our partners in Brazil.
